Parallel Lines
I took this yesterday afternoon whilst I was out looking at new 50mm lenses. It’s actually a water fountain, however at this time of year it is switched off, I assume, to stop it freezing over. However I was really drawn to the contrast between the dark and light concrete and the pattern of the parallel lines. I’m often quite drawn to symmetry and repetition in an urban environment. Incidentally, the leaf was already there and I didn’t want to remove it- I think that it just adds a little something to the shot.
Taken at 1/125, f7.1, ISO 100. Slight cropping to image (the top of my shadow!), converted to black & white and colour boosted using iPhoto 09.
